Scrap Metal, Inc operates on 30+ acre facility housing several heavy
industrial equipment. We have the capability to process any type of
scrap we receive. Our processes involve sheering, bailing, sorting,

The Cat M318C MH
has been an excellent mobile addition in our facility. It is
equipped to deal with scrap efficiently and reliably. It has an extending cab to
allow the operator to see into high-sided rail cars and other similar
containers. Other special features include solid tires, a Cat orange peel
grapple, and a heavy duty magnet. The machine can switch between the magnet and
the grapple easily with hydraulic quick connects and a simple pin-on attaching
system.
In operation, it does not look much like the standard mid-size excavator on
which it is based. It loads and unloads trucks and rail cars, and also helps
feed a small shredder that is set up to remove the insulation from pre-cut
sections of copper wire.
Our newly added 90°container tilter has improved our overseas
container loading by 75%. It's mobility allows us to position the
structure practically anywhere in our facility. The built in safety
features secures the container at the 90° fully tilted angle which
is supported on each of its corners for minimal container damage.
With a remote operator control unit, the tilter operation can be
done safely from a distance with no chains or off-center loads. The
feathering control levers aid with fast container alignment. It's
dual ram design allows trailer height variation at deck height of
43" to 54".
Our 830D series material
handler has improved the efficiency process. Enhanced features such
as mobility and providing excellent all-around visibility for the
operator with its elevated cab and built in sound absorbing
insulation. Designed with safety check valves for lifting, and stick
cylinders. Its 114,640 lb HD-wheeled undercarriage adding stability
and great mobility. Sennebogen 830D brings state-of-the-art
load-sensing hydraulic system and powered by a water-cooled Deutz
Diesel Engine with added large fuel tanks for extra time on the job
between refueling. SDS Sennebogen Diagnostic System monitors the
operating performance of the equipment and provides feedback to the
operator as well as service personnel.
